For sale at the upcoming Auction on Saturday the 15th of June: This very special Dutch C.J. Perlee 42-key Street Organ called “Sophia” built by Cor Perlee, son of the famous G. Perlee from Amsterdam. This is the very last organ built by C. Perlee before he passed away in November 2022 which makes it the very last organ built by the famous family Perlee. There are no successors.. C. Perlee started building this organ in 2017 and has 42 keys, 7 basses, 10 accompaniments, 18 vocals (violin/bourdon), bass and snare drum. A special word from Lucienne Perlee, daughter of C. Perlee, dedicated to this organ: “My father couldn’t sit still. He said I’m going to build one more organ. He did this in the dining room at his home. Dad started building the organ in 2017. But in 2018 my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s so he couldn’t work on it as much as he wanted. When my mother died in 2019, he named the organ Sophia. His grief made him work harder on the organ. He always said I don’t know when it’s my time to go and I want to get it done before my time comes. 3 months before my father died, his pride project was finished. My father passed away on November 14, 2022. My dear father worked for hours, days, months and years on this showpiece. All handmade. Age also played a role in the fact that everything did not go smoothly and took more time. But at the age of 86 he succeeded and finished the organ. I hope that the organ will find a new home where it will receive the deserved appreciation. This is really the last original Perlee organ. Lucienne Perlee.” The organ is in playing condition. Comes with 5 books, 18 rolls/types for stenciling or cutting and 6 additional trombones. A special, last organ made by the famous Perlee family. An innovator and visionary, Hugo Popper built a great musical instrument company, closely related to both Weber and Hupfeld in securing Leipzig as the musical capital of that era. This instrument is a Popper #20 orchestrion. Piano with mandolin and an percussion cabinet to the top. Oak constructed cabinet, with applied trim and a front panel to the bass drum has 3 painted figures and the wording, “Happy-Jazzband”. The instrument was restored about 15 years ago by Horst King. Playing very nicely with the correct jazz band and ragtime rolls, a great instrument! We are looking for a new home for this street organ. 1933, BELGIUM: This beautiful street organ has had a wonderful journey in its life. In 1921 Carl Frei opened a factory in Breda, Holland, where he designed the special scales of pipe complements for Dutch street organs. The most popular models were in the 52, 67, 72, and 90-key sizes. In 1933, Frei purchased this 52 key organ - at that time a fairground organ - from Pierre Eich of Gent Belgium, and rebuilt it into the street organ it is today. After WWII, H. Gossling purchased the instrument from Carl Frei and had it rebuilt. It remained in Holland until it was purchased by the collector in 1990, when it was restored by Riks Gossling and converted to the Limionaire scale. The organ has a striking appearance, great color scheme to the restored façade, on a newer wagon cart, with replicated front band leaders. The accordion player was made in the likeness of famed 1920s Italian jazz artist Tino Rossi, with an accompanying drummer/percussionist. As far as we know only 5 "Double Tinos" have survived. The two figures are original, but the original paper roll mechanism by Kuhl & Klatt (Bodson) has been replaced by the high tech self-playing accordion and percussion set made by Decap. Lot 113. A very nice 5¢ Genco horoscope fortune teller. Fortune teller comes to life to read your fortune or your zodiac sign. Speak into the vibraphone and ask the fortune teller yes or no questions or turn the knob to the zodiac sign of your choice. There is some minimal wear on the cabinet as well as some flaking on the back glass. The interior is original and very clean, with a great overall look and only some very slight wear marks on the fortune teller's dress. The plastic top piece is in exceptional condition overall, with only one small area of repair on the very top right-hand corner not visible from the front view. Lot 271 is this exceptionally beautiful Citroën Model A 'Torpedo' from the Wil van de Camp collection that was purchased by the current owner in 1972 in deplorable and incomplete condition. Over the years, the missing parts have been obtained in France. The restoration of this car has been done at long intervals. In 2016, the owner completed the restoration. The results are impressive. The result and condition of the car was so good that in 2019 they were asked to loan this car to the Autoworld museum in Brussels for the exhibition "100 years of Citroën". This car, the first model produced by Citroën, was 99 years old at the time, making it the oldest at this extensive exhibition. During the opening of the exhibition, photos were taken of André Citroën's grandsons, Henri-Jacques and Philippe, next to this beautiful model A. In the same year, this car was allowed to appear in the Dutch television series Vliegende Hollanders. The registration number of the car is DZ-22-65. Mileage does not apply, no odometer in car. Technical data: chassis number 4360, cylinder capacity 1327 cc, bore x stroke 65 x 100, power 18 hp. A car with the specific construction and characteristics of that period and in excellent, working condition. Restoration history available. Hard to find a Model A Torpedo in this condition.
